Hemodialysis Technician

This program teaches students how to care for patients with renal failure and how to use the dialysis equipment proficiently. Students will learn how to take vital signs, obtain vascular access, take blood samples and work comfortably with patients and their families.

Upon completion, students will take the California Dialysis Council (CDC) Exam and be able to apply for Certification at the California Department of Health.

Eligible students will be able to complete a Student Internship Program at any DaVita Dialysis Facility in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Job Assistance is provided to all students for employment in dialysis clinics.


Length of Program: 6 months

Schedule: TThSa (9:00am-3:00pm), Sat-Sun (9:00am-3:30pm)

Total Cost: $5,145.00

(includes Registration, Tuition, CPR/BLS, Books & Handouts, Materials & Supplies, Uniform, and Technology Fee)

The following requirements should be accomplished for admission to the program: 

  1. Completion of Enrollment Agreement 
  2. Payment of Registration Fee 
  3. Must be at least 18 years old 
  4. Must submit proof of 12th grade education or its equivalent: High School Diploma from an accredited school or General Education Diploma (GED). * Foreign graduates must have a high school diploma or transcript evaluated for 12th grade equivalency in the US.
  5. Must possess a valid government issued ID
  6. Must speak, write and understand English
  7. Must possess or in the process of obtaining a Social Security Number at the time of enrollment
  8. Current CPR certification with BLS prior to direct contact with patients
