IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Course for LVNs
This 36-hour course is designed to teach the knowledge in both the technical and procedural aspects of Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal to Licensed Vocational Nurses. It includes but is not limited to the types of intravenous fluids, types and techniques of venipuncture and universal precautions for infection control as required by the CA Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technician (BVNPT).
This course is designed for those who want to advance their career and/or are interested to be certified in IV Therapy and Blood Withdrawal.
LVNs successfully completing the course will be certified by the California Board of Vocational Nursing and Psychiatric Technician to initiate and superimpose intravenous fluids and blood withdrawal.
METHOD OF INSTRUCTION:
Class Sessions:
Daytime Session: 4 days (8:00am - 5:30pm)
Evening Session: 6 days (3:30pm - 10:00pm)
Prospective student must meet the below requirements prior to admission:
- Proof of being at least 18 years of age or older
- The payment of registration fee and arrangements to pay tuition
- Signed admissions application and signed enrollment agreement
- Verification of LVN License
- All applicants must be able to speak, read, write and understand English
