Medical Assisting w/ EKG and Venipuncture

This hybrid program introduces students to the overall operation of a physician's office. Students will learn administrative duties such as handling financial records, correspondence, insurance forms, and other administrative functions. Students will also be trained to perform clinical procedures, use of the EKG Machine and Phlebotomy knowledge and skills.

Upon completion, students receive three Certificates of Completion: Medical Assisting, EKG Technician and Phlebotomy Technician. Students will be prepared to take the National Certification Exam conducted by the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).


Job Assistance is provided to all students for employment in SF Bay Area Clinics and Hospitals

Length of Program: 8 months


Schedule: AM Class M-F 9am - 2:30pm

               PM Class M-F 5pm - 10:30pm


Externship: Included (Sutter Health, Seton Hospital Clinics, Kaiser Permanente, Concentra)

The following requirements should be accomplished for admission to the program:

  1. Completion of Enrollment Agreement
  2. Payment of Registration Fee
  3. Must be at least 18 years old
  4. Must possess a valid government issued ID
  5. Must speak, write and understand English
  6. Must submit proof of the highest level of education: Minimum - 12th grade, High School or General Education Diploma (GED). * Foreign graduates must have a high school diploma or transcript evaluated for 12th grade equivalency in the US.
  7. Must possess or in the process of obtaining a Social Security Number or TIN at the time of enrollment
  8. Submit CoVid 19 Vaccination record
  9. Completed medical history, physical examination and PPD signed by a physician or nurse practitioner prior to any direct patient care
  10. Current CPR certification with BLS prior to direct contact with patients
